Pioneer books that take you back to Kansas’ frontier past…
Not only do I raise buffalo, I also write about Kansas pioneers that settled this area, and publish books about them through my Butterfield Books Inc. book company. Centuries ago, buffalo and Native Americans passed over this hilltop land on their way down to the Smoky Hill River. Then the area was homesteaded in the late 1860s by Swedish immigrant families.
Enjoy these books about pioneers that homestead the Plains…
My Butter in the Well book series tells the story of the original family that homesteaded the farm in 1869 (where I grew up), and the lifetime work it took to establish the farm.
Planting Dreams, my other book series about Swedish immigrants, feature my father’s side of the family that settled in this area.
Stitch up memories using my Frontier Quilt Patterns…
Well known with quilters, my Trail of Thread book series ties in quilts along with my mother’s family history. Please check out my quilt patterns that match my Trail of Thread series too.
(I autograph all my books for your order AND there is no shipping charge when placed through my personal website!)
Explore Kansas through these pioneer books…
You can also order other books on this site that pertain to quilts, history, buffalo, and Kansas.
