What makes people who see the Smoky Hill Bison billboards on Interstate 135 near Lindsborg, Kansas detour six miles out to this hilltop ranch? To participate in our buffalo farm tours (that start in April and run through the fall season) and see the majestic Kansas Buffalo!
Visitors are welcome from 10 to 5 Monday through Saturday and Sunday afternoons to see the buffalo and shop at the ranch's visitors center and gift shop. Just follow the signs from Interstate 135 and Old Hwy 81.
Everything from bison steaks, jerky, to buffalo hides and skulls are sold at the ranch, and through the bisonfarm.com website. The shop also has a variety of specialty foods, books, toys, shirts and gifts about buffalo and Kansas.
Smoky Hill Bison Co. also hosts tour bus groups, and this rural center can be rented for family reunions, business meetings, outdoor weddings and other events. Meals featuring buffalo meat, tours to view the herd, and programs about bison or host Linda Hubalek's Butter in the Well books, are some of the special highlights that groups can enjoy during their visit.
Summer tourists can stop by to take a van ride out to see the buffalo, and have a picnic lunch on our covered porch.
This country attraction is also known to have the best maze and pumpkin patch in central Kansas. There's no other maze attraction in the state that gives you a Prairie Tram ride to see the buffalo herd, covered wagon rides, shots with the pumpkin slingshot or corn cannon, besides the other fun activities for your weekend maze admission. Visitors stay and eat in our Bison Café, then wander through the Maze again in the dark, ending their evening with a scary trip through the Haunted Trail.
Families, scouts, church and corporate groups come in for the weekend activities, contests, and specialty food concessions. Book a school field trip so your students can see and learn about bison and Kansas agriculture, explore the corn maze, and pick a pumpkin out of our pumpkin patch!
We're close to Salina and Lindsborg (Little Sweden USA), so there are lots to see and do in our area. If you're looking for a unique place for your group, contact us today for information and bookings and additional information.
