This quilt was inspired by my book, Trail of Thread. This historical letters in this book take us along the difficult wagon trail to Kansas in 1854. Quilt and quilt patterns were a treasured part of pioneer women’s lives, and they were shared and traded on the journey west. Fabric colors for these quilts were chosen to express the visual experience along the trail. Wall quilt size is 52” x 52”.

This quilt was inspired by my book, Thimble of Soil. The historical letters of widow Margaret Ralston Kenney, written in 1854-1860, tell a captivating story of the trail to Kansas, homesteading, and her love for family. The center of the quilt features two long house blocks, as home and family were the core of Margaret’s life. Surround these are many log cabin blocks for the many friends and neighbors she helped. Wall quilt size is 52” x 52”.
